Micro loop are a  quicker and less expensive alternative to high end branded hair extensions which often out price the younger clients.

Sometimes however Micro loop are not suitable such as in cases where a client has oily or very fine hair, in this case the client would experience slippage of the bonds.

An alternative to Micro loop in this case would be to use Stick tip  which are in principle, the same hair extensions, the only difference being in the application which is slightly different and the fact that the Micro bead which holds the hair extensions onto the hair is silicone lined and has a stronger grip.

Although the overall principle of the two kinds of extensions is the same, there is a difference in the application.

Micro loop have a disposable plastic loop which you thread over the natural hair once pulled through the extensions is in place to secure with pliers.

With the stick tip you use a reusable tool (EZ threader) which acts as the loop to thread the bead onto the hair shaft once done you slip the tip of the extensions inside the bead and again secure with your pliers.

The glue on the tape will then reach optimum bonding .
