How powerful is it?

Hair is like a picture frame that crops a photo (your face).It can bring focus to where you see beauty in your face. For example fringes will bring attention to the eyes and soft layers below the chin can distract from a week jaw line.

If you are doing display sports, competition dancing or performances ,hair and appearance is even more important. Depending on your style , you'll want a hair style that matches the spirit of what you're doing.

Still, just because we know hair is one of the females most powerful allies's doesn't mean we know how to full make use of it when we’re dancing

Lets face it we aren't all blessed with long flowing locks so luckily for us mere mortals using hair extensions provides us with so many more possibilities then nature untended, not only can you achieve long luscious locks, but create body, texture and introduce new colours/themes with strategically placed extensions. Micro loop want to introduce a different effect. Just a few highlights or flashes of colour can give you a change of look, whether it is subtle or dramatic, a great way to experiment without commitment to dyes and bleach.

Micro loop

Of all the recent advancements in hair extensions by far the best is the no glue Micro loop system.

No glue, no chemicals, quick application time , and easy enough to be done by yourself at home (although you may need to enlist a good friend for the back).

The Micro Ring installation and removal system is one of the easiest hair extension systems available on the market. This technique can be done on all types of hair.

Great for short to medium term wear. Micro Loop is the smallest and most undetectable Hair Extension technique available, which combines fine strands of your natural hair with the extension hair.

Hair is cushioned in a small covered bead which is pinched to secure, great for sporty types , as they stay put until link bead is un-pinched with pliers.

These small beads come in different colours of metal and are covered with plastic (colour determined by hair colour) which provides a comfortable cushion for hair. The rings clamp securely in place and will not slip out even during the most challenging of activities.

There is no glue, no heat, just luscious locks, so simple to apply, and there is no damage to your own hair.

Micro Ring extensions should last up to three months before needing to be removed/reinstalled/tightened.

PU GLUE WEFT HAIR

At Ahead of hair our PU  wefts are hand-crafted using Remy grade hair pulled through a micro-fine layer of Polyurethane to produce a more natural look as the hair appears to sprout from the weft instead of just hanging from it.

Invisible wefts are attached to the hair [not scalp] close to the scalp using flexible bonding tape or liquid adhesive. They are quick to apply and produce seamless bump-free extensions. They can be removed and reused easily.

So Easy

Although the strip on the top of the weft has an adhesive on it we have found that extra hold is needed, you simply attach the Skin weft PU hair extensions with a double sided tape/liquid gold glue on to your own hair. .

The Skin weft PU hair extensions method is suitable for most persons but specially for those with slightly thinner hair who want it to be thicker and longer, or to hide thinning hair .

The special skin weft surface looks like your own skin making your skin weft PU hair extensions look very natural. Tape on,or seamless as they also are called, can be re-used several times without problems.

Because of the weft nature and ease of application this method is a bonus for clients and salons alike as application time is cut.

So versatile, this type of extensions really comes into its own for covering up thinning hair areas , and whilst applying extensions to areas which are usually a problem, i.e. fringe front and sides where bonds would show.

note: our glue weft hair is great to use in conjunction with micro loop for fringes and sides/ hide thinning areas.

Method one.

Skin Weft PU hair extension. Add a little liquid gold glue or skin wefts PU hair extension tape to the PU surface (skin looking strip at the top)

Then take a thin section of your own hair and attach it in this manner:

Method two.

Skin Weft PU extension + glue +layer of your own hair on top + Skin Weft PU extension ON TOP of that (= the Sandwich method).

You can achieve a stronger bond if you use a flat iron/straighteners  at a low temperature. The tape and the PU surfaces are very sensitive to oil products and conditioning products, so be careful whilst conditioning and styling.

If you wish to re-use the Skin Weft PU extensions, the PU must be cleaned with alcohol / glue remover before it is re-attached.

4. look at the hair. It should have a lighter colour at the bottom than at the top. This will indicate that all the hairs are running in the same direction. At ahead of hair we only use 100% human grade A Remy hair , cuticle intact and very durable. We stock a wide range of colours so usually we have your hair colour in stock. We do not charge per colour so you can mix and match a choice of colours if you wish

Price including hair, application, and cut:

Half head: to add volume, hide a bad hair cut, or to add a longer layer at base/back of hair
Half head = £120

Full head: adding volume, layers and length/colours. Going from short to long hair.
Full head of extensions= £190

Once extensions have been added, the hair can be trimmed and blended to your required length. This is included in the price.

Micro loop extensions last for approximately three months with a maintenance visit which costs £60. here the rings are loosened and replaced closer to the scalp so the the extensions are reused.

How to look after hair extensions

Following on from our TWITTER series of top tips on hair extension wear , we have decided to publish them on our site, we will update every week so stay tuned.

Top tips number 1

Maintaining your hair extensions and avoiding fall outs is all important, we have all had a really good hair wash and condition , and then experience the come down of several hair extensions wrapped around our hair brushes, one of the important things to get right is the washing process

Wash hair in tepid water, not hot, hot water helps break down the bonds to an extent, and also, hair shrinks in heat so avoid hot hot water, go for as cool you can stand.

Wash from the bottom up, yes that's right start at the ends of your hair and the extensions and gently shampoo up to the bonds stop short of the bonds by an inch or so, this way you can give hair and extensions a good gentle wash without worrying about bonds

Don't rub hard , gently stroke shampoo down the hair length and separate strands as you are doing this.

for the last 2 minutes gently massage the scalp with shampoo and then rinse in tepid water.

repeat these steps for conditioner
